The 2016 Zarraffa’s Coffee National Franchise Conference is gearing up and here’s your backstage pass to all of the behind-the-scenes action!

Zarraffa’s Coffee is proud to host the 2016 National Franchise Conference on the Gold Coast this November, with the event allowing their Franchisees the opportunity to come together, network and educate themselves on the company’s future business direction. It’s not all workshops and presentations though!

This year the Australian-owned and operated business has big plans for their Franchisees, all aimed to evoke some laughs and celebrate the company’s 2016 success.

In the words of Zarraffa’s Coffee CEO and Founder, Kenton Campbell.

“2016 has been a big year for our brand and we want to thank our Franchisees for their ongoing commitment to our fun-loving brand, and what better way to do it than with a few laughs?”

The Zarraffa’s 2016 Barista Competition will kick start the Conference and will see the company’s top 6 Baristas from Upper Coomera, Oxley, Beenleigh, Head Office, Acacia Ridge and Runaway Bay stores battle it out for the ultimate Zarraffa’s title.

Franchisees will then lace up their aprons for a completely different reason than steaming your favourite morning coffee –  the ultimate ‘Zarraffa’s Bake Off’.

The ‘no holds barred ’ kitchen battle is being compared to a comedic version of Masterchef – six teams of twenty, 90 minutes of hard yakka, with 5-star expectations! What happens next is sure to be historic!

Zarraffa’s Coffee Founder and CEO, Kenton Campbell will also take the stage for his keynote address, with a key focus to deliver more to our customers.

The conference culminates in  the company’s annual Gala dinner and awards event. There are a number of awards including Store of the Year, Rookie of the Year as well as the CEO’s Award, with the ‘big gong’ – Franchisee of the Year – the most hotly anticipated on the night. Will your favourite store be recognised?

Zarraffa’s Coffee is pushing ahead in their expansion plans for the acquisition of key drive thru sites with the latest opportunity opening up in Arana Hills, in south Brisbane, this week.

The closure of the popular Kmart Arana Hills store has made way for a new convenient location within the suburb, situated adjacent Grovely train station, at 161 Dawson Parade.

Zarraffa’s CEO, Kenton Campbell, said the company has been looking to transition stores from shopping centre locations, with increasingly higher rents, to more accessible locations with both in-store dining and drive thru options for customers.

“Arana Hills is the perfect example of our franchisees growing with the business. We provided them with an alternate location to grow their business, which enabled a move to our drive thru model and the opportunity for additional growth”, said Mr Campbell.

“Instore growth, as opposed to increasing the number of stores, is important to the business right now and a key part of this plan means relocating traditional stores to higher traffic sites.”

Mr Campbell said the company was on track to open at least another ten stores over the next 24 months with a number of those relocations of existing store and are working with their franchisees to assess their plans for growth to marry up expansion plans with their goals.

“We are highly saturated in our store footprints in south-east Queensland but have many opportunities opening up in regional Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. It’s about being smart about our expansion, ensuring we are keeping our customers’ expectations top of mind.”

Owners of both Arana Hills stores, Ekant and Kanan Patel, said the new Grovely location is ideal to cater to daily commuters both in their car and using public transport.

“It was an easy choice to make the move, knowing we are so close to our other store site and better able to provide convenient coffee to our local customers”, said Mr Patel.

“We have been operating in the area now for the past seven years and know how busy our customers are in the day so a drive thru will be a big asset in serving great coffee on the go.”

Zarraffa’s Coffee Grovely (drive thru) is located at 161 Dawson Pde, Keperra

Opening hours:       5am – 10pm, seven days a week
