Zarraffa’s Coffee Kickstarts Expansion in the West

Since taking over five sites of an existing coffee chain in 2012, Zarraffa’s Coffee has been searching for the perfect location to build their more traditional store offering, unveiling operations this week in Clarkson.

The multi-store owners of the Ellenbrook and Canning Vale locations, Paul and Jennifer Meyler, have expanded operations with a third drive thru at Clarkson.

“Since relocating to Perth in 2014, we have had the privilege of getting to know the area and have a great understanding of the coffee-loving market here in Perth,” said experienced franchisee Paul Meyler.

“The Clarkson store is in the ideal suburban location and presents customers with both a comfortable instore environment and a full-service drive thru, for those on-the-go.”

The addition of the Clarkson store brings the total number of drive thrus in Western Australia to six, with the other five stores located in various suburbs across Perth, including Ellenbrook, Canning Vale, Currambine, Peppermint Grove and further afield in Kalgoorlie.

“The Clarkson store typifies what Zarraffa’s customers experience on the East Coast where the brand has been built steadily since 1996,” said Managing Director Kenton Campbell.

“With a large sit-down café-style environment, combined with a bustling drive thru operation, Zarraffa’s has built its reputation over two decades – serving up coffee to our customers exactly how and where they like it.”

Mr Campbell said the WA expansion plans had taken time to perfect and align with experienced franchisees.

“With Paul and Jennifer already running two successful drive thrus locally, not to mention their willingness to accept any challenge they face, it was clear they were the perfect pair to helm the Clarkson store opportunity.”

Zarraffa’s Iced Coffee Popsicles

Enjoy these simple, refreshing iced coffee popsicles year-round! Serves: This recipe makes approximately 6 popsicles. Made with our very own Zarraffa’s Brazilian coffee beans, these creamy caffeinated treats can be enjoyed for breakfast, dessert, or as a snack throughout the day.  This recipe can be altered to taste, and made using your choice of milk, whether it be full cream, skim, almond, lactose-free or soy.  We also recommend adding a Zarraffa’s syrup or chocolate sauce for some extra sweetness!   YOU WILL NEED:
  • 2 tablespoons of Zarraffa’s Brazilian coffee beans (or other Zarraffa’s blend of your choice), finely ground
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 cup of milk of your choice
  • 3 tablespoons of Zarraffa’s syrup (e.g. Vanilla, Caramel), Raw Sugar or Sweetener. Adjust the amount to taste.
  • A popsicle mould. We have used a 6 popsicle mould – but you can adjust the ingredients for different quantities.
  METHOD:
  • Make 1 cup of fresh coffee using your preferred brewing method. We used espresso, but filter or plunge will work too.
  • Allow the hot coffee to cool completely before preparing the rest of the mix.
  • Pour cold coffee into a bowl and slowly add milk and flavours to taste. Stir and let cool. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Ensure the popsicle mixture is completely cold before placing into the freezer, as this will help to avoid any ice crystals from forming.
  • Divide your popsicle mix between the six moulds and insert the sticks or lids, ready for freezing.
  • Place mould in the freezer and leave for 12 hours. Once frozen completely, remove from the freezer and separate the popsicles from their moulds to serve. Running the mould under warm water can help to release them.
  • Enjoy!
  Tip: Adding gelatin to your popsicle mix can help to keep it frozen for longer, and will help to set the mix quickly. For extra creaminess, try replacing milk with cream. Zarraffa’s Brekkie Smoothie Range – Now Even Fruitier

Zarraffa’s Coffee has expanded their breakfast smoothie range by introducing three new Fruit Smoothies across stores nationwide, for customers looking for a fruity boost on-the-go.

The delicious new additions to the Zarraffa’s menu come in three different flavours – Mango, Berry and Banana – and are combined with yoghurt, milk and ice, all blended to perfection.

Managing Director of Zarraffa’s Coffee, Kenton Campbell, said the Fruit Smoothies are a refreshing new addition to their ever-popular Brekkie Smoothie range.
