Opening with sweet apricot, lifted by lemon and crisp green apple, easing into a smooth, ripe plum finish with a delicate citrus-sweet linger an expressive sip calling you to try.
Our latest Single Origin release, Ugandan Mount Elgon, is shaped by the dramatic beauty of its origin. A volcanic landscape rising along the Uganda and Kenya border, where gentle elephants roam and Sipi Falls cascades. It’s a vibrant bean that feels completely at home in this breathtaking environment.
Harvested in Mount Elgon
Situated between 1,400 - 1,900 metres above sea level, this region is protected by national parks on both sides of the border, preserving an ecosystem home to rare flora, fauna and some of East Africa’s most fertile soils. Here, smallholder farmers cultivate coffee through the Mount Elgon Washed Arabica Scheme, a community initiative established in 2007 that now supports more than 6,000 growers.
Farmers deliver their cherries to one of six micro-washing stations, each equipped with eco-pulping units and greenhouse drying beds designed to optimise processing in the area’s wet conditions. Working in Producer Organisations of 25-30 members, Farmers receive dedicated field support and training to elevate quality at every step, a collective effort that shines through in the cup.
As a Rainforest Alliance certified coffee, Ugandan Mount Elgon is grown using practices that protect biodiversity, support local livelihoods and safeguard the surrounding national parks. From eco-pulping to improved conditions for smallholder farmers, sustainability underpins every stage of this beans journey.
With a cupping score of 84.25, this release is vibrant and beautifully expressive. It’s a roast that Honours the skill of the Mount Elgon community while capturing the unmistakable character of the landscape that shapes it.
