We’re celebrating our 30th Birthday, a milestone moment made possible by our community.
What began as a single Coffee Store in Southport on the Gold Coast, Zarraffa’s Coffee has blossomed into a thriving business of Franchised Stores and Drive Thru locations brewing at over 85 locations across Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

1996 - 1997
Our First Store Opens
With a love for coffee, a 9K loan and some good old fashioned hard work, the Founder and Managing Director, Kenton Campbell, established Zarraffa’s Coffee in 1996 and opened the very first Zarraffa’s Coffee location at Australia Fair in 1997.
2005
Expanding Interstate to NSW
Zarraffa’s was thriving in Queensland and with a loyal customer base behind us, we were ready for the next big leap…going interstate! Making goinga bold move beyond our home state, we opened our first interstate store in Morayfield, New South Wales. Proving our community was growing and things were only just getting started!
2009
The First Drive Thru Opens
Leading the way in retail coffee innovation, Zarraffa’s Coffee developed its popular drive thru store concept in 2009, opening in Worongary offering customers quality coffee and added convenience.
2020
First Single Origin
Zarraffa’s first Black Label, Single Origin was the Kenyan Ntongoro, sourced from Meru County, Kenya. Single Origin releases allowed Zarraffa’s customers to choose a bespoke flavour profile of coffee from a single known geographical location. Since the first launch, Zarraffa’s has released 20 Single Origin beans.
2023
Partnering with Australia Zoo
Conservation has always been at the heart of Zarraffa’s since the brand’s inception, where we have established partnerships and initiatives to support wildlife. In 2023, we committed to a 10-year partnership with Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors to support wildlife conservation, education and the care of animals. Enabling customers to join us on a journey that goes beyond the counter!
2025
Expanding into South Australia and Victoria
2025 was a landmark year as we expanded into SA and VIC, while proudly welcoming 11 new stores to the herd, opening in some of the most requested locations across the country. This year marked a major milestone and a defining moment in our journey ahead to reaching our future goals!

Over the last 30 Years our customers have been at the heart of everything we do. This journey has been possible because of your loyalty and love for great coffee.
In our early days, customers would come in for their daily coffee and enjoy a fresh brew, perched on a hessian bag full of green coffee beans yet to be roasted by founder and Managing Director, Kenton Campbell.
As the years have passed, so too has the way we serve you. What began as a small, hands-on roasting operation has grown into a thriving network of stores, complete with convenient drive-thrus. Today, you can swing by a drive thru on your way to work and be greeted by one of our incredible Franchisees, Store Managers or Baristas, each sharing the same passion about the perfect brew, as we had 30 years ago.
Coffee has always been our thing and our herd has been with us every step of the way as we’ve explored new flavours. From Choc Cherry Fusions to Maple Mochas, your tastebuds have been flavour-fuelled as our menu has evolved and expanded.

More than business partners, they’ve been leaders, community-builders and champions of great coffee, backing every product trial and flavour experiment with the same enthusiasm as day one.
Over time, many have grown from single-site operators into proud multi-site operators, building strong teams, thriving stores and lasting legacies within their communities. A true testament to their hard work and dedication, something we couldn’t be prouder of!

While so much has changed over the past 30 years, one thing remains the same: our commitment to crafting exceptional specialty coffee.
So, what does the next 30 years hold? With our goal to reach 200+ locations by 2032, the future is bold, ambitious and full of flavour.
