United Blends of Zarraffa's- Aussies Supporting Aussies

For years, Belmont North Franchisees Trent Moody and Oliver Humphry dreamed of owning their own store working tirelessly through the Barista and Store Manager ranks before their dream became a reality.

The duo has celebrated many achievements throughout their Zarraffa’s journey, most notably bringing the iconic giraffe south of the Queensland border and opening the Zarraffa’s Coffee store in the Hunter region of New South Wales in 2017.

“We couldn't be happier with how the last three years have gone. The store is trading incredibly well and it's really due to our community and our incredible staff,” said Trent and Oliver.

Loving every minute of their Franchising experience, Trent and Oliver credit their local community with their success.

“While it might not seem like much, during COVID last year when we were faced with the prospect of going into lockdown or when we had to revert to take away only, having customers continue to come in and say, ‘we'll be here supporting you as long as we're able to’, just blew us away.

“It really gave us some perspective on this business that we've created that is so much more than just making coffee every day.”

Further down the east coast, separated by only 240km of scenic road, is the Eggert family; fourth generation Norco dairy farmers located in Wauchope.

Helping provide high-quality 100% farmer owned milk to over 70 Zarraffa’s stores across Queensland and New South Wales, the Eggert family milk approximately 180 to 200 cows of mixed breeds, producing over 1 million litres of fresh milk a year.

Just over 20 years ago, Chris Eggert made the decision to transition to an organic dairy farm and has since seen the farm go from strength to strength.

“It’s good for us, good for the consumers and the environment. It’s a win-win.” said Chris.

When purchasing your favourite brew from your local Zarraffa’s, you’re also supporting local Franchisees who employ members from your local community plus you’re setting up financial foundations for the next generation of farmers like Chris and Ann’s sons Lachie, Jimmy and Billy, who dream of carrying on the family dairy farming legacy.

“Customers are always happy to see Australian-owned businesses supporting each other and it's a massive bonus that Norco is such a great product which complements our great coffee!”, enthused Trent and Oliver.

“Our Norco milk delivery man actually lives locally so for us to be able to support another local business is immensely satisfying.”

Together, Zarraffa’s and Norco share a combined history of 150 years of being proudly 100% Australian business.

“Being part of an Australian-owned business is important to us because we're able to contribute directly back to our local community. It’s humbling to be a small part of a larger network of Aussies supporting Aussies.”
