The noticeable difference in our Single Origin beans can be defined by one word: flavour.

In Guatemala, gender equality remains a challenge, particularly in industries like coffee farming, which have long been male-dominated. Recognising these challenges, we are thrilled to offer La Morena as a platform to showcase the work of women farmers across Guatemala.

This year's La Morena lot was produced by a group of eleven remarkable women farmers from Huehuetenango, including;
  • Yuris Yojana Villatoro
  • Ana Francisca De Villatoro
  • Maria Lucinda Lopez Domingo
  • Imelda Castillo Villatoro
  • Sandra Mariela Villatoro San Jose
  • Sara Elizabeth Lopez Castillo
  • Julieta Aleida Herrera Laparra De Castillo
  • Norma Elizabeth Hernandez Lopez Ojo de Agua
  • Maria Teresa Alvarado Villatoro
  • Dora Marina Vasquez Ambrocio
  • Ermita Esteban Diaz

Single Origin coffee is grown within a distinct geographic location, meaning either a single farm or one country. It is influenced by specific natural attributes such as climate, landscape, and altitude where the beans were grown.

Each bean delivers a bespoke flavour, providing taste profiles that might sometimes get lost in a blend.

Featuring hints of dark chocolate, golden honey, sweet currants and aromatic liquorice, these coffee beans have been sundried for a smooth and well-balanced flavour.
