The noticeable difference in our Single Origin beans can be defined by one word: flavour.
Our latest Single Origin release, Ugandan Mt Elgon, is shaped by the dramatic beauty of its origin. A volcanic landscape rising along the Uganda and Kenya border, where gentle elephants roam and Sipi Falls cascades. It’s a vibrant bean that feels completely at home in this breathtaking environment.
Situated between 1,400 and 1,900 metres above sea level, this region is protected by national parks on both sides of the border, preserving an ecosystem home to rare flora, fauna and some of East Africa’s most fertile soils. Here, smallholder farmers cultivate coffee through the Mount Elgon Washed Arabica Scheme, a community initiative established in 2007 that now supports more than 6,000 growers.
With a cupping score of 84.25, this release is vibrant and beautifully expressive, opening with sweet apricot, lifted by lemon and crisp green apple, before easing into a smooth plum finish with a delicate citrus-sweet linger. Honouring the skill of the Mount Elgon community and capturing the unmistakable character of the landscape that shapes it.
