Levi’s journey at Zarraffa’s Coffee is a testament to the opportunities available within our team.
Starting as a Barista at the Beenleigh store over 11 years ago, Levi’s passion for coffee and dedication to customer service led him to quickly rise through the ranks as Head Barista at Zarraffa’s Eagleby, a role unique to the store.
“I love my job and that’s why I’ve stayed with Zarraffa’s for so long. I like seeing our regular customers every day, it’s a great routine and a stable career.”
Levi credits his long-standing career to the mentoring and support he’s received from his Zarraffa’s Franchisees, Nick and Kelly.
“I've had loads of mentoring, and my franchisees go hand-in-hand in helping me. The stability, flexibility, and the joy of seeing our regulars every morning, keep me motivated.”
“I’ve competed in the Battle of the Baristas competition for a few years now and that’s also a really fun and exciting Zarraffa’s community event to be a part of.”
fROM tRAINEE TO TRAINING
Nathan, who is also from the Zarraffa’s Eagleby store, has led a decade-long career with Zarraffa’s.
His first role was as a Trainee Manager, where he undertook our 8-week training program to earn the leadership role.
“When I started with Zarraffa’s I went straight into training. I had plenty of support, especially from a long-standing Zarraffa’s Franchisee, who trained and mentored me so I could become a Store Manager.”
“I like the brand, it’s a fun, great environment. I love working with people so it’s great for me.”
Nathan has been operating as a Store Manager for the past decade now, adding that he’s now trained dozens of juniors who have started with Zarraffa’s at the very beginning of their careers.
“I’ve helped heaps of young people over the years, either to make their start with Zarraffa’s or progress in their roles. The biggest learning curve is to train them how to not only manage a team, but also customers too.”
Looking ahead, Nathan has his sights set on advancing professionally even further with Zarraffa’s over the next few years.
“A long-term goal I’d like to achieve in the next three years is to open my own franchise,” Nathan said.
“I know that my Eagleby Franchisees will be there with me every step of the way and will be big contributors in helping me progress into that.”
lEADERSHIP AND MENTORSHIP
At the heart of Zarraffa’s success are the inspiring leaders who guide and mentor our teams.
Just one example is Damian, a franchisee of two stores at the Zarraffa’s Harristown & Anzac Ave locations, who exemplifies dedication to nurturing our future store talent.
Over the past two decades, Damian has mentored dozens of team members, helping them upskill and progress in their careers, both within and beyond the Zarraffa’s family.
“One of the most rewarding parts is being able to employ local juniors and support them as they grow into managerial roles or professionals in other industries, including to date, paramedics, lawyers, accountants, actors and directors,” said Damian.
“It's also important to me that I build strong relationships with local schools. This allows us to help students enter the workforce.”
